Gospel-centred Submission


The church is not comprised with those who are worthy, only one that is worthy, Jesus 

We cannot expect highly for our church and family, else we will be disappointed.

The church is the hospital for the sinners.

 
In Ephesians 5, 
1. Husband loves the wife like Jesus loves the church. 
2. Children honor your parents 
3. Slaves summit to authority 

This may be difficult to do, unless we submit to Christ. 


We should avoid legalism. We shld not just "do" what is commanded, as no one can do all the commandment of God. (eg David) 

St Augustine
was rebellious but accepted Jesus just a few weeks after his mother died. Her mother's name was Monica (Santa Monica in California is named after her). She submits to her unbelieving husband and prayed for Augustin all her life. 



We are not to be fishers of men, but to follow Jesus then he will make us fishers of men. 
We need to surrender to Jesus in order to be successful in following the scriptural rules. 
If you love Jesus, you must feed the sheep. There's nothing you can do for Christ. 

Jesus continues to be submissive to God even though he suffered and died for it, though he can snap his finger and destroy the Roman kingdom. 

Jesus will become king, and Ceaser will become a salad. 

Eph 5:29 - we are part of his body. When Adam did his job to name the animals, and slept He took a rib and cut his flesh and blood come out. Jesus did his work and sleep and his side was pierced we are flesh of his flesh and bones of his bones. When Adam wakes up the bride is ready. When Jesus ressurected his wife (the church) is made ready.

Why were the Holy Spirit Given to the Disciples Twice? Collin Leong. 14/10/2023 Two scriptures in the New Testament indicated that the disciples receive the Holy Spirit twice within 50 days.  In John 20:19-23, it says:    On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.”  When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side.
